Pete Cooper’s new collection of Irish tunes follows a journey, county by county, from the Cork/ Kerry border region in the south, up through Clare, Galway and Sligo to Donegal in the north. 64 tunes (jigs, reels, polkas, hornpipes, airs etc) are arranged in sets for session or concert performance, and all are recorded on the accompanying CD. Some are easy to play, others more challenging.

The bowing techniques, ornamentation and other aspects of style explained in a concise but informative introduction will be familiar to readers of Pete’s Complete Irish Fiddle Player, as will source musicians like Julia Clifford, Tommy Peoples, Lucy Farr, John Doherty and Padraig O’Keeffe. Notes on the tunes, as well as the introduction, are given in English, French and German. Irish Fiddle Solos is published by Schott in the UK and Europe and by Mel Bay in north America and Australia.
